We just thought we needed to do a list of everything that became Chippfest2015. Our Huge thanks to everyone who played any part in ChippFest 2015 it was a huge undertaking but worth, I am sure you will agree, all the effort.

Day 1 Friday

We started at Monro’s  with Mayor Councillor David Powellperhaps thinking he was taking a bit of a flyer with an unknown Quantity, ChippFest, but he was our first Act at the Launch Breakfastand did us proud. Also included at the Launch were, Suzy Simmonds, Chippenham’s Mad Poet, Paul Farrell, Builder with his Radio Play, ‘Saying I Love You’, then, Sharmain Washburtona ChippenhamFM Presenter and Singer, followed by Mary Ballanother Presenter and Singer. And it wasn’t even 9.30am. FREE ENTRY

Next came Noisy Fridayin The Museum and heritage Centrewith Jules Shore. Two hours of Nursery songs and Rhymes and a Story for the Under 5’s. FREE ENTRY Weekly FREE Event

Next at 1 Gastons Road at the Pottery Painting Studio, Glazedwas open from 10am – 5pm for Childrens and Family Painting Parties, Evening Classes and Hand And foot Impressions in Clay. That’s Wed to Sat and Sunday is 10am till 4pm. £’s as Marked

The Highway Blues Bandperformed Soul & Blues Showat the Buttercross Innfrom 8.45pm. FREE ENTRY

At the Pheasant Inn Carvery, Bath Road,  ‘More than One’performed from 9pm till Midnight.  FREE ENTRY

Day 2 Saturday

At The Yelde Hallin the Market Place, Chippenham and District Artists were on the last day of their Summer Exhibition & Sale of Paintings,10.30am – 2.30pm. After that time 17 pieces of Art go in to venues around the Town to form a free to enter Art Trail. Free Entry Forms from – Visitors Info Centre, Museum, Munros and the Yelde Hall. Venues for the Art Trail Included - : Munro’s, Gladstone Arms, Sarah Jayne’s, Phase Patch, A4 Stationery, The Angel, Paprika, The Garden, Revolutions, Shamrock, The Picture Shop, Is That Sew?, Pineleaze, Dolmans, Scoffs, Steamers at the Railway Station and the cafe at Monkton Park Golf Club . Each venue will displayed our logo, a letter and a map trail as well as original art work. FREE EVENT

At The Buttercross Paved Area,Dance’N’Air. The passing Public were entertained by The Ukey Dukes, The Jasmin School of Dance & Mary Ball(Presenter ChippenhamFM On The Ball ) Singer. FREE EVENT

At the Bottom End of TownFootnotes Apalucian dancing grouplaid their Dancefloor and entertained. FREE EVENT

Will Lawton, Singer/Songwriter and Grand Piano virtuoso supported the fabulous Mike Scott , Folk Singer at              A Night of Musicat Fred & Norma Guscott’s Cause Music & Arts Centrein the Causeway. £7 & £5

Same day , same time at ST Andrews Church inThe Market Place. Chippenham Male Voice choirwere celebrating their 75th Anniversarywith a concert that included Bath Spa Band & Soloist Jane Francis. Tickets £10

The Astoria Cinemaand Kandu Artsthen played their part in the World Premier showing of Postcard from Perranporth a recent project from Kandu. They even had a red carpet out the front. ENTRY £5

Lastly on the first Saturday at The Consti-Clubthere was live Music Nightwith The Night Hours.Entry £3, Members Free

 

Day 3 - Sunday

Sunday afternoon at Monro’s Café & Barwe were entertained by End of the Tracka 10piece 60’s covers Groupthat sing for charity and by Paul Farrellwho performed his own play called Shakespearein which he played all three parts and brought a number of us to tears. FREE ENTRY

At The Bandstand in John Coles Park,Bath Spa Band  Entertained from 3pm – 5pm FREE ENTRY

To finish Day 3. Choral Evensongat St Andrews Church,The Market Place at 6.30pm.FREE ENTRY

Day 4 – Monday

Kicked off with Messy Mondaysin The Museum, with Water Sand paint play etc.for the under 5’s. 10.30 – 12.30 for accompanied Children. FREE ENTRY( Weekly FREE Event )

Chippenham Town BandPractice was open to all at the Cause Music & arts Centre on The Causeway, FREE ENTRY

At Monro’s Café & Bar Sharmain a ChippFM Presenter hosted her normal ‘Bunch Of Thyme’ Folk Show live with live contrabutions from Mike Scott and 2 friends and Sharmain herself. FREE ENTRY

Day 5 – Tuesday

At St Andrews Churchan Organ Recital/Concertby Gareth BennetStarted us off for the day.FREE ENTRY

The Singing Caféat The Cause Music & Arts Centre in The Causeway was the Venue for Norma’s Tea Cake and a Singsong which was FREE ENTRYfor your first visit.

Later at The Cause Music and Arts Centre we saw The final Practice from theLingmara World Music Choir prior to their  Concert with  salute on Saturday night. FREE ENTRY

Meanwhile at Munro’s Café & BarThe Boss Man & Terhi Ikonen(Terhi goes to Town presenter on ChippenhamFM were recording sections of interviews with some Ladies from Chippenhamfor a New Series coming in the Autumn. Those interviewed were Jane Evans – Parenting Expert ( Violent Children, Channel 5), Linda Gordon– Collections Officer from Chippenham Museum, Sue Simmons– Mad Sue the Poet & April Barlow– artist in residence for Chippfest2015. FREE ENTRY

Day 6 Wednesday

Halfway through The Festival. 7pm sees Rag & Bone ArtsImpro Groupdoing some improvisation games led by JonMonie, local Actor /Comedian. This was held at the Consti-Club in Foghamshire, FREE ENTRY

Finally on Wednesday in Monro’s Café & Barour very OwnMidweek Mojo ( presenter Brian Reid ), does a live show with GuestsMartin Dennis - singer / Violinist and ComedianWill Hodgson, with some great new music interspersed.

Day 7 Thursday

There was live Music atThe Buttercross withsinging DuoSylvia & Gavin from 8.30pm.FREE ENTRY

The Thursday Ace programme from Jeremy Garrawaywas transferred to our Base Studio at Lowdenfor ease of streaming and a studio the size of a third bedroom coped with 8 guestsgoing live singulary and together. Quite a party. FREE ENTRY


Day 8 Friday

At 4.15pm in Monro’s Café & Barwe had a local Poet who performs under the name of Edward Hawkhingeperforming from his HourGlass series of Poemsfrom around the coasts of Britain. Topics covered Hundreds of years of history. FREE ENTRY

We mixed Terhi Ikonen’s  Terhi Goes to Town  with Mary Land’sOn The Balland went live from the Base Studio in Lowden.With Special Guest Amie K Folk/Indie singer/ songwriter, what a blast that was.FREE ENTRY

At St Andrews Churchwe were entertained by Chippenham Musical Theatre Group and the junior Clogett members with An Evening of Music.This was a virtual Sellout TICKETS £ 10

At The Old Road TavernThe Heavy Metal Boystook over The Barn with Roads To Nowhere, Honeymoon and Solace in Nightmare.FREE ENTRY

At The Consti-Club  The Stage was taken over by A Punk Nightwith 50 Shades of Punk and Hell Death Fury. FREE ENTRY.

The Buttercross Innhad A Blues Nightwith Lightening Hobos & John Mutter. FREE EVENT

The Yelde Hallhosted the Last Baguette Theatre Company  with their latest play, Whats the Matter. Tickets  £5

At The Libraryin Timber Street ‘ Off The Page and into your heart’were Chippenhams Romantic Novelists  with a panel of five published writers to answer any of your questions. FREE EVENT


Day 9 Saturday

Our Signature Event for ChippFest 2015 Was The ‘’Rockin The Park’’Concert with 10 Bands Playing Live from the Bandstand in John Coles Parkfrom 2pm – 9.15pm. Included Bands were –The Doorway Band, Rollers Inc, jarid Clark, Triple JD, Benji & Hibbz, Basement 83, Dead Pheasants, Mick O’Toole, Dirty 6, & The Hat Club. FREE EVENT

Also in John Coles Parkwere Disco Denfor the Little Onesand anyone who wanted to do some mixing. FREE EVENT

Elsewhere in Chippenham, Susan Coates From Opera Suliswas introducing her audience to the All American Songbook followed by Cupcakes and Tea or coffee, which all took place at the Central Methodist Churchon Monkton Hill. Tickets £8

At The Cause Music & Arts Centrein The Causeway Lingmara World Music Choirhosted A Concertwith their visiting Choir Saluto from Lithuania. TICKETS £7

To Finish the day, Operation 77played Punk and Ska Coversat The Buttercross. FREE ENTRY


Day 10 Sunday – Final Day

In the afternoon Swindon Brass Bandplayed a Concert in The Bandstandin John Coles Park. FREE ENTRY

Early Evening at The Cause Music & Arts Centresaw Rag & Bone Arts and their Community Choirperform a Play Oozi that they had written and produced Themselves with Laura Graeme May, their Theatre Arts Director. Tickets £5

To finish the Festival off Will Hodgsonput on an open Mic Comedy Nightat the Old Road Tavernwhere The Midweek Mojomade his Standup Debut with 4 other Comedianson the bill FREE ENTRY
